Robert Johnson

My wife Sarah and I have been working together since 2006.  We work together on our whole sale orders, but have developed our own niches in clay.
I am particularly drawn to a low fire saggar technique which creates a rich red earthy finish and I have paired it with a Native American technique of burnishing with a special mica tera-sigalata.

I envision creating a pot that looks like it could have been made hundreds of years ago, then dug up at an excavation site.
I also make functional ware like mugs, platters and drums that have a very organic look.  I want my pots to look like they have come from the earth.
You can see more of Roberts work on his website.
