Art Institute & Gallery 12:00




  • Call to Order - Call to order 12:20
  • Treasures Report Since last meeting Dec 12, 3 deposits of $60 .  Balance 2009.93.  Dott has a bill for Insurance.  Thomas Wright needs to be paid for plaster- $60 for 100 lbs, Rob needs to email Ernie the address for payment.  
  • Membership:
  • Remove Pam Blessinger, she has passed away.
  • Payments will go on date of anniversary.  
Old Business


  • Update : Naked Raku Workshop with Ray Bogle
  • 500 for the class, + 10/ per student + Hotel accommodations,
  • Limit of 12 students 
  • Looking at SU  
  • 4 pieces fired per student
  • July - 
Motion to Run the Class.  
-Motion Approved.  
Motion to have Clay Guild Pay 500 for class plus Hotel accommodations, 
Motion to have students pay $ 25 to participate.  12 spaces 
(We will ask him if we could have 5 more spaces for observers) at $10 each.  
Motion approved.  
Dates of Availability for members July 16th and 23rd, we will offer both to see his availability.  


  • Chesapeake Tours 10 people to craft show in DC, April
  •     Smithsonian Craft Fair April in National Building Museum.   21-24 looking at April 21 for excursion.  
  •     Pricilla would charge $375 room for 10 people, open from 10:30 to 8 pm = 40/ person including tip.  + 20 per entry fee to show, advanced tickets available online for $17 or 15 for group of 10.  
  • Rob will send out an email to see March 26th deadline 
  • At least 8 people need to go.  
  • Motion :The clay guild would secure the bus for at least 8 and pay if the other 2 spaces are not filled.  
  •         Motion approved.  

  • Open Studio at AI&G -
  • All Equiptment is in. 
  • changes are being made to fee structure and Ali has requested a meeting with CG members.  
  •     When members meet they have requested that the financial Mike Hyland (Treasurer), Derick Weaver (President of Board) and Ali Grice be at the meeting.  
  • Can the Clay Guild get on the agenda for April 11th to discuss open studio, Rob, Vicki, Ed and Cheryl, and Florence have volunteered to go

  • CCART 2016
  •     Thanks to supporters campaign made 7000 for kids with an additional 3000 in scholarships, If you know anyone to apply email Marie, due this 
  • Last year's kids are showcased now, this year's will be up soon 
  • Book bags with art supplies for every applicant 
  • Seed money for next year
  • Denim and dazzle revisited... One major event ticket sales at Elks Club maximum 120 people, 12 of November, raffles all night long- Marie needs $50  Art Donations!!!! By mid June to photograph and advertise for event.  This may be last year all money goes to kids for donation.  Marie will link CG to her website.  Next day Nov 13, would be a show for artists for free in the Powell building.  
  •     Sarah will help Marie with FB page.  We will forward info... 
  • Seaford Art Sale First Saturday: May 7th  2 (12:00-5:00) a parking lot next to gallery will be open to artists. Bring your own set up:  Contact Chris Darby: 302-629-4321
  • Pokomoke 1st Saturday - 10 to 3 pm $25 for a table 
  • 1st Saturday Salisbury - Summer concert series on North Division in Salisbury, runs from 4-7 pm, Arts Market is free but full at this time, anyone who would like be on the waiting list can contact Sarah Halcott at [email protected]
